The CWGA Scholarship Fund for girls was established in 1977 following an endowment by Priscilla Maxwell Endicott. In 2022 a new scholarship was created to honor Marion Hyde, a long time CWGA member.  In 2024, the Marion Hyde Scholarship Fund was endowed by a generous donor to enable the fund to continue on a permanent basis. Collectively, these Scholarship Funds are known as the CWGA Scholarship Program.  It is supported by CWGA member contributions, fundraisers and other individual donations. CWGA is committed to the support and success of the CWGA Scholarship Program and encourages its members to pledge their support.

Scholarships are awarded to girls either entering college, or currently enrolled college students, based on academic performance, participation in golf programs and financial need. The scholarships are for a maximum of four years at the college of the recipient’s choice and will be awarded to any Connecticut girl regardless of race, color, creed or club affiliation. The CWGA Scholarship Committee conducts personal interviews to select the finalists.

The CWGA Scholarship Program is affiliated with the Connecticut Women's Golf Association, but is separate and distinct operation. It is a 501(c)(3) federally tax-exempt organization as determined by the Internal Revenue Service. As such, gifting can be made directly through the use of Qualified Charitable Distributions (QCDs) from Required Minimum Distributions, therefore tax-free. Please consult with your tax advisor to ensure eligibility.
